OUR COMMITMENTS

Group

Strengthening Our Communities

Giving back to our communities is part of our culture. We recognize our responsibility as a global corporate citizen to invest in the communities where we work and we direct our employee volunteer efforts and charitable giving for positive social impact. We unite around FactSet’s four Pillars of Service, partnering with leading nonprofit organizations that are contributing to the causes that matter most to us. This sense of purpose demonstrates the FactSet spirit of going above and beyond and reflects our employees’ pride in working for an organization that cares.

We work with our non-profit partners to develop projects within our pillars that are both highly impactful for our communities and engage our employees in meaningful volunteer opportunities. We are not currently accepting event sponsorship or grant funding requests.

On November 11, 2021, FactSet incorporated the FactSet Charitable Foundation as a nonprofit nonstock corporation. A separate legal entity from FactSet, it will be governed by its own Board of Directors but supported by FactSet.

Inspire Tomorrow's Engineers

Engineering and computer science are the backbone of our ability to innovate, and FactSet’s future success relies on talent who contribute diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences to our company. It is critical that we prepare students – particularly young women and other underrepresented groups– as future technology leaders. By working with education and social mobility nonprofits and charitable organizations, including America on Tech, CodeDoor, and upReach, FactSet helps young people build engineering skills and move into the tech industry. In fiscal 2021, we reached more than 36,000 young people, providing access to educational resources and events, FactSet mentorship, work readiness programming, and practical industry experience.

Educate to Elevate

FactSet recognizes that a strong educational background provides the foundation for a bright future. We support programs that develop young people with the skills, competencies, and connections that prepare them to transition into adulthood, including pathways into quality work, education, and training. Through our community partnerships, our talented employees are helping the next generation to develop basic literacy and math skills, business and finance knowledge, and life and employability skills.

FactSet works with one of the world’s largest youth-serving charities, Junior Achievement, in Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Latvia, India, the Philippines, Singapore, and the United States. FactSet volunteers deliver résumé writing and interview skills workshops, financial literacy talks, and entrepreneurship challenges. FactSet volunteers in the U.K. and U.S. also support TutorMate, a virtual reading support program that pairs volunteers with children for a weekly tutoring session to read stories and play games that build fluency, comprehension, and reading confidence.

Alleviate Food Insecurity

FactSet recognizes the power of proper nutrition to fuel effective education that sets up young people for success. Studies have shown that access to nutritious food helps children to do better academically, leading to increased personal success that builds better communities and stronger economies. Sadly, not all children can reliably access quality nourishment. That’s where we come in. FactSet is committed to alleviating hunger, boosting educational attainment, and encouraging long-term achievement through our partnerships with local and global hunger relief organizations. In fiscal 2021, FactSet helped provide more than 1 million meals for people in need around the world.

protect-environment

Protect Our Environment

FactSet is committed to managing its business in an environmentally sound manner with a focus on sustainability. Similarly, our employees are passionate about protecting and maintaining green spaces in their communities and supporting research that empowers environmental conservation. We partner with leading local environmental organizations to protect and preserve natural resources and community spaces in the places where we operate.

In April 2021, FactSet launched Pledge for the Planet, a new sustainability initiative that challenges employees to change habits to reduce their impact on the environment. FactSet honored completed challenges by sponsoring tree plantings with the global reforestation charity, One Tree Planted, helping to plant more than 14,000 trees in fiscal 2021.

Empowering Our People

FactSet conducts an annual employee engagement survey (click here to view results highlights) to capture employees’ constructive, honest feedback on a broad range of topics. The anonymous and confidential survey is administered by a third-party vendor and is designed so that every voice has an opportunity to be heard. Aggregated survey results are reviewed by executive and senior leadership, as well as direct managers. The scores and comments provide insight into what make us proud to be FactSetters and helps us take action to improve our employees’ experience and our overall effectiveness as an organization.

We seek out the best talent across the globe, building an atmosphere where they can think creatively, contribute actively, and grow professionally within high-performing teams. We have a diverse global workforce and we do our utmost to foster an inclusive culture where all employees can bring their whole selves to work, contribute at their maximum potential, and grow in their careers.

We want our employees to feel that their work is meaningful and has purpose. We give them a lot of responsibility early in their careers and empower them to find creative solutions that meet our clients’ needs. In return, we commit to creating an environment consistent with our values that supports their personal and professional goals.

CREATING VALUE

FactSet is built on the values that have guided the company since its founding in 1978. Our founders’ principles continue to drive how we do business today and those beliefs have shaped the norms of our culture. As big as we grow, as far as our reach and as successful as we become, we stay connected to our clients and to each other.
